Charlevoix Municipal Pool Civic Garden

Location: 11905 U.S. Hwy. 31 N.

The Community Pool Garden began in 2001 and creates a "splapool garden 1 2009sh" of color.  The gardens include a raised circular garden in the center of the driveway and gardens surrounding the pool building.  Seven club members maintain this garden.

The circular garden is composed of mostly perennial plants, including Russian Sage, purple Salvia, Hostas, white Astilbe, white Salvia, burgundy Day Lilies, Dianthus, Liatris, Lavender, Snowcap Shasta Daisies, and Meadow Sage.  Annuals are added each year.  We have new color coming out at different stages to provide color all summer.

The gardens surrounding the pool building consist of mostly shrubs and grasses, including Burning Bushes, Russian Sage, Zebra Grasses, Lavender, Boxwood, Barberry, Salvia, Delphinium and a dwarf Cherry tree.  Daffodil bulbs have been planted around the entrance to the building, bringing early color to the garden.

We improve the garden each year and invite you to stop by and see for yourself.  If you should encounter any of our "deer" friends nibbling on the Hostas, politely ask them to leave.
