Charlevoix Public Library Garden
Mason Street
The garden at the new Charlevoix Public Library was started in late summer 2006. It was designed to enhance the lovely Library sign on the brick wall on Mason Street. Tall bush Cranberry, spirea and Viburnum shrubs frame the perennial bed while screening the fence around the service yard. The perennials including lady’s Mantel, Day Lilies, Phlox, Cranesbill, Hosta, Roses and Ornamental Grasses are placed so as not to interfere with the lighting of the sign.
The garden includes Tulips and Daffodils that were in the gardens of the school before it was the new library. Several members of the garden club dug the bulbs before construction began on the library and saved them for the new garden. Many of the bulbs were planted over 25 years ago by garden club members who wanted to see the school grounds beautified.
Walk around our beautiful new Library, look at the circle garden by the main entry, the children’s garden behind the wrought iron fence and the perennial garden on Mason Street, and then go in the Library and be amazed at our wonderful state-of-the-art facility.
