2010 Events & Fund Raisers

by Joan Nowak last modified 2010-01-14 14:34

You won't want to miss this year's fund raising events. These events enable the Garden Club to support 11 civic gardens, community and youth projects.

May 29th 2010 -- Annual Plant Sale

At this annual event, members dig plants from their gardens and from friends' and neighbors' gardens.  In some years, the Club rescues plants from places that have either gone out of business or are revamping their landscapes. We hope you participated in the past and we hope to see you in 2010.  Watch the web site for location and time.

July 14th 2010 -- 12th Annual Garden Walk. Theme: Dancing with the Flowers

The Garden is the Club's major fundraiser.  Eight private gardens are featured and we invite you to visit the gardens for your own enjoyment and also to learn about plants, design, and landscaping.  Tickets will go on sale the end of May.  Watch the web site for "how to" purchase your ticket.

July 14th 2010 -- Standard Flower Show  Theme:  Dancing with the Flowers

If you have not visited our Flower Show in the past, we hope you will take the time to visit this year's Show.  It will be held at the Community Reformed Church, located just north of the bridge.  The Show is judged by certified judges and features 36 flower arrangement designs, over 200 horticulture specimens, and a variety of special exhibits. The show is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  We hope to see you there!

October 8-10th 2010 -- Bulb Sale During Apple Fest Weekend

The Club hosts a booth in East Park where bulbs, trowels, gloves, garden accessories and crafts are available. This is a community-wide event, and we invite you to join in the fun and leave with healthy bulbs to plant in your garden. The bulbs you purchase will brighten your garden next spring.
